Default My Neon my be dying at an early (mileage) age

Hi again everybody here at this great forum. Its been a month without my car becuse she's been in the shop for the past month. Dont know if some of you remember my last post but here is what may be grave news for my 1997 plymouth Neon SOHC 2.0. Got the Throttle position sensor replaced, Camshaft sensor replaced, and Crankshaft sensor. The reason? CODE 11. I got the throttle replaced for preventative measures. After all that something is gravely wrong here. I drove away from the shop happy as a kid on christmas day. I even noticed a little more horse power restored smiling from ear to ear... BUT that nag... that "problem" returned and is still stabbing away at us with a FURIOUS vengeance and that problem is when I drive and the car heats up, the engine loses power as if its being smothered, even when the accelerator is to the floor and it would eventually die. I wait till it cools.

I would then restart engine, (chokes at first BTW) drive then it happens again after 5 mins or so. We need help. Its embarassing when people drive past while youre on the side or even in the middle of the street with blinkers on CLUELESS

Is there ANY hope for me? Is my engine about to go? please help

I was thinking about that, giving the fact that the car is 12 Yrs old and at the 92000 mile mark. Is it about that time to replace the fuel pump anyways? But where do I start? I can still here the fuel pump when I turn the key to the on position. How do I go about testing the pressure? And what are the pressure specs to look for?

Sorry for the ambush of questions.

you have to have a fuel pressure gauge and there is a little port on the fuel rail. sometimes pumps can get hot after running and that would be why it will run for a little while then die.

Thank you for replies, I ran her around the block a few times and she stopped of course the pressure reads 24PSI max and I also got a code 11 which is strange because I changed the cam, crank, even the throttle sensors its complaining about. Is there ANY chance the timing belt is skipping or off? When you replace those things, do you have to do a "re-learn" method?

if your timing skips even just one tooth it will not even run. most of the time when i have to replace a sensor i always disconnect the neg battery terminal so the compute has to relearn

no way your timeing could have changed by swaping out sensors. however with 92000 miles it is time to start looking at a new timing belt and a new waterpump while you have it apart.
Yes 24 PSI is way to low for idle fuel pressure should be at a static 49 PSI at idle. It is easyest to change out the fuel pump with the least ammount of fuel in there as possable of course you can not always get that lucky.

Is it too late to disconnect so that it can?

I did have the water pump changed two years ago does that count as a new timing belt?

I have 3 quaters of gas in there, I must be cheap so is it safe to sypher my gas out and reuse it? Do gas become contaminated?
