Default cv shaft replacement questions

im replacing the cv shafts on a 98 sohc automatic tranny neon. i had no problem getting the passenger side removed, how do you get the portion of the shaft on the driver side that inserts into the transaxle or tranny or whatever you call it. how do you get that part out. and also, any special instructions to reinstalling new ones. i've never replaced cv shafts before, do they click in, or what special steps installing do you have to perform. Thanks guys. Bobby

Use a rubber malet on the part that is right next to the transaxle. I used a wooden wedge to get mine out. Get new shaft seals when you put the new ones back in. They just press right in, just make sure you have the gears meshed or they won't fo in.
