i got a 95 neon having problems with idel and acceleration has alot of hessitation and backfire but not all the time thought i needed a tne up so replaced plugs, wires,and filters didnt fixed nothing i think i had a vacum line leak but i checked all and no leak i think i am sucking air in with the gas cause i am hearing a humming sound inside the car but cant locate it has any had this problem and what did you do

 

have you checked your intake manifold or leaks? or even the coil pack? how many miles are on her?

 

2nd the coil pack, pull each plug wire while shes running and make sure it sparks the tubes strongly and often.

 

Just be careful not to get sparked yourself.

 

i fixed the problem had a foul out plug but on my way home tonight from work started doin it again and now the check engine light is on so i checked what codes i got i got 12,34,51 or 52 messed up impissed i got a sound off comp on the 29th now im screwed

 

i would be guessing you have a weak coil seen as you had a new plug foul out that fast.... deff would have your checked out to see if its with in specs...

 

now im am getting codes 12,43 and i cant find a site where they tell me

 

ok 12 mean the battery was disconnected in last 50 starts and 43 was multiple or single missfire that is jacked up if you ask me when i fixed it the first time she drove like brand new i got about 130,000 on the od and now she is going crazy so it could be the coil pack just getting old cause i dont hotrod her i baby the bitch

 

actually the number one thing that takes out a coil is a spark plug wire or bad plug... anything that makes the coil work harder then it should have to to get the spark where it needs to be...
