Default Swapping cams??

I'm going to have the head off soon and I can snag a 95 cam from the JY, so how hard is it:

a. To pull the cam from the JY car(I know you have to tilt the engine up)?
b. To swap into my head(head off car)?

Is it a noticable gain(3.55 trans)?

noticeable gain: yes... worth it: yeah as long as its a cheap price its a great upgrade from the 96 and up cam.... and should really have no adverse affects on fuel milage... as far as pulling the cam out of the car at the junkyard will be the hardest part... installing it in your head will be much easier with the head off... and if you have a 3.55 tranny anything will help performance... lol although if you do for sure have the 3.55 tranny you up for a straight trade for a 3.94 tranny? lol i'm looking for a 3.55 for my fuel milage project...

Got the cam today. Didn't take long and didn't even need to tilt the engine up(had to unbolt PCM though).

Well I'm taking the head off to get the new rings in, but what would a standard P&P cost? Probably not in the price range right now but figured I'd ask. A 3.94 will be the next upgrade so that'll work nice with the cam. I also have a GB manifold I hope to re-do,Jb weld doesn't stick to plastic well lol and I am positioning the TB close enough for the stock throttle cable.

Shoudl have gone with a larger cam. The 95 is "ok," and yo may notice a bump in power. All in what you want though. Did you compliment this work with some head/valve work?

should be pretty sweet to see the results... i've been tossing the idea around of doing a GB intake but the fact that i have a dohc i'm not to pumped about messing around with an aluminum intake... the 3.94 tranny will deff be a worth while upgrade... although i'm doing the exact opposite i'm going to shove a 3.55 behind my dohc... but i'm going for fuel milage then for performance...

I barely have the money to re-do the rings so can't so any head work now. I got the 95 cam for 10 bucks so it wasn't a big deal for a little upgrade.
