Default will this fmu work for the spool boy mod???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

i bought this cuz it said it was adjustable but then realized that theres prolly not adjustment for the idle fuel pressure it'll only basically pinch the fuel supply back to the tank when it gets into boost. so if i use this i will have to get a universal fpr (fuel pressure regulator) to be hooked up after the fmu (fuel management unit) on the return line after the rail. so basically what im asking is will this work lol?

i will be running a straight line from the pump to the rail bypassing stock regulator. from the rail on the return side to the fmu. from the fmu back to the universal regulator set at 49 psi. then finally back to the tank through the canister.

if you put a universal regulator after the FMU at 49 psi then your might as well of just ran the stock regulator and forgot about the spoolboy mod.....
if you limit the return pressure to 49psi then your gonna cause issues.

do you realize that when your under boost your fuel pressure will be sumwhere around 110 psi, the fuel needs to get to the engine just as fast as it needs to get back to the tank.

well i dont see what i need to do then to get that fmu to work for me. i figured that when it gets into boost the fmu will kinda put like a clamp on the fuel being returned to the tank causing an increase in pressure to the rail at a 12 to 1 rising rate. but when its not into boost the fmu is open letting all the fuel travel right through it thats y i figured the universal adjustable fpr will give it the proper pressure at the rail for idle and/or in vacuum only then right when that fmu sees boost it'll put even more of a clamp on the return fuel causing an increase in pressure to the rail. does that make sense? maybe i didnt explain my theory good enough the first time. do u think it'll work like that???

ok so i drew up a thing showin how i was planning on running my fuel set up (see my attachment) hopefully this will show what i was saying a little bit better. im thinkin at idle and in vacuum the adjustable fpr set at the factory setting of 49 psi will take care of my proper fuel settings out of boost. since i believe the fmu is completly open and clear when in vacuum. and right when i hit the boost the 12:1 ratio fmu will restrict even more fuel flow back to the tank for every pound of boost increasing pressure to the rail which will get more fuel to the motor. what do you guys think?

i will also be running srt stage 1 injectors. (they're 46lb right?)

just get a 1:1, as boost goes up so will the fuel pressure. I have my fpr after my fuel rail, its just T off a port from the intake manifold. I never had a problem. Just get a mallory one and call it a day. There is no need for a 12:1, you want a 1:1, look on any SRT forums and they all say 1:1, I have mine set to like 43 psi off vac. and 52 with vac. I dont remember do you have a fuel controller? SAFC, SAFC II, NEO?

nope no kind of fuel controller. stock comp. and everything just a map clamp. but i was told i need over 100 psi of fuel at the rail when in boost. and a 1:1 wont get me over 100 psi. but even if i did get a 1:1 i would still need a universal adjustable fpr after the fmu right? cuz the fmu doesn't control fuel in vacuum. right?

you have to remember that with the srt-4 they are designed to be boosted so their fuel system flows much more fuel then a first gen fuel system... so a first gen with a 2.4 and a turbo is going to need different mods then a srt4....

ok thats irrelevant and doesn't answer my original question srt4s dont have a return line and thats what im gonna be running. so i need to know if my set up will work to get the motor enough fuel
