Question When I brake my headlights turn on and dash lights up

Just wondering if you guys had any ideas on why this is or how to fix it? Have recently resoldered the cluster as the Speedo was freaking out on me. Could it be a fuse or maybe just some dodgey wiring?

i would guess that you have a short in the cluster

I have similar, when I break my left turn signal(cluster only) stays on.

Would a short mean some two parts are touching where then shouldn't, have something in between them?

well the easiest solution to your problem is to stop braking..then they wont light up anymore

A short circuit (sometimes abbreviated to short or s/c) in an electrical circuit is one that allows a current to travel along a different path from the one originally intended.

make sure you didnt bridge things together when you soldered the Cluster.

when did it start doing the brake light thing?

I've had the same problem with my 1995 Dodge Neon. Sometimes when I break the left turn signal lights up. I realized it's a wiring problem but it's not too much of a bother for me. What I've noticed is that when it happens you have to slightly move up the turn signal handle and the light goes off quickly.
