Thinking about changing out struts and shocks
The guy who had the car before me changed the struts and shocks. I don't remember what he told me the brand name was, but he did say they were performance shocks - he liked to drive hard/steer hard.
Now, my only complaint about the car is that it rides like a friggin' bucket. I feel every bump and thump in the road. She handles well, but I use it for a daily work commuter, not a hot-rod - even though this is my project car. They are still fairly new, and if they are something like Koni's, then I may even try selling them to recoup some of the cost of new ones.
I had a 2001 Plymouth Neon, and my mom has a 2005 Dodge Neon, and neither one had/has the rough ride as mine, so I know they make "softer" shocks for these cars, but both of them were/are 2nd gen models. Does anyone out there have any they may recommend for a 1st gen model? I'm not looking for a 1975 El Dorado Cadillac floating ride, just something that don't transfer every bump in the road straight into my A$$!

go w/ a straight OEM replacement. if the ones on there are performance, then yes, you will feel every bump due to the stiffer bound and rebound of the shock. local auto parts store should have them in stock, or you can go to your local pull-a-part if you have one and grab a used set.
