Default Headlight Replacement

I just got a pair of TYC headlights for my '98. I got 5 Screws out of the bracket that holds the assembly in, but could not get the 6th one out. How so you get the bolt out from behind the light? Any tips. Thanks for the Help.

u can try taking the front of the wheel well out and that will free up space behind the bumper.

er... bolt *behind* the headlight? there should only be 3 bolts per side that you need to take out to remove the headlight.. two under the hood, where it bolts to the "frame" piece which you can plainly see.. and one lower bolt that you can access two ways: 1st way - by laying under the car, and reaching up behind the bumper and getting to it that way. 2nd way - remove gasket from headlight, and push down gently on the front bumper. you should be able to see the bolt you need to take out to get the headlight assembly out.

of course, i didnt mention that the center grille piece should also be unbolted from the headlight assemblies.. but thats pretty much a given when you look at it

Try posting this in the 1st Gen Neon section. Maybe you will get more replys. Personally, I don't know why there remains and main section if there are 1st gen and 2nd gens sections

There are some questions that are general about either 1st or 2nd gen.

You still have your charcoal canister?
I just passed a visual emissions inspection with the EGR assembly removed and blocked off, the entire evap system removed, header w/aftermarket cat, and the plug from the non-functioning downstream O2 sensor dangling under the car (tie wrap broke...). Gotta love Jiffy Lube!
