throttle swap
has anyone swaped a TB from a auto to a manuel? i looked up that the TB on a auto is a 52mm and the manuel is a 49mm. (For the Neon's 2.0 liter engine, the factory 49 mm throttlebody (TB for short) on the manual transmission is plenty for stock use. As a step up, you can use one from a Neon with an automatic transmission, since it is 52 mm.)
has anyone done this

dude this has been tons of times its even in the FAQ... i don't wanna be a dick and say search but when your answer is a couple clicks away at the top of the page without really even searching.. the FAQ is there to make it easy for anybody to find the most common neon mods and problems....
i went and did the 3 inch intake from the how to and works and looks great but my question is i got a throttle body from an auto today and for one it did stay on the throttle cable was a little lose and the intake part is the same size so which TB are ppl talkin about? Is it a cretin year or model?

Well i got one off an auto and measured the TB and they both seem to be the same size when i tried to start it wit the TB from the auto it wouldn't stay on the cable was loose the TB cable part is much thicker on the Manuel then the auto
the part you have to measure is the throttle plate or where the throttle plate sits when its closed... the opening where the intake clamps to is the same for all neons

1G neons all have the same diameter where connected to the intake tubing. Look down into the throttle body just before the plate. The throttle body from a 5sp neon gets narrower before the throttle plate, obstructing air flow. The throttle body from auto neon does not get narrower before the throttle plate, measuring 52mm all the way. The 5sp neon throttle body decreases in size to about 49mm.
