your not tryin to say you got 100 more rpm so you got morre power right? cause sohc's peak horsepower at 6000 and peak torque at 5000 and the dohc's peak horsepower at 6500 and peak torque at 5600

ive never had a tach...isn't it easyier just to listen and be intune with your car? you'll know when you best power is by the feel of the car...there is no known right or wrong time to shift it varies neon to neon...take the car out and shift it alot untill you find a spot you like the most <--- common sence right???

Any dyno charts to back up your claims, or were you using the "butt dyno" to tune your sohc?

Then you should be able to load a chart on the internet showing how much of a gain you achieved in 100 rpm's, right?

ok, let me see if i can take some pics, or a video cuz i use my iphone to do that!... now im making a swap, doing a dohc, if u know the dohc have the max hp at 6500, i think i can put it on 6700 on stock pcm... with the acelerometer can show the "g" force, i mean it can show the max "g" force and when the car start to losing up (exactly when the car hp fall), and bro u say 100 rpm is not much, bu if u pull the car 1 mile more one first, almost 2 miles on 2nd and in 3th 3 miles, the car improve really good..

actually the dohc hp peaks higher then the sohc 6750 redline which is also the atx dohc redline which is why the dohc atx neon is the slowest of the neons... also just cause your not making more power reving higher doesn't mean your car isn't going faster... sometimes its better to rev high so when you shift into the next gear your closer to or are even in the powerband which will make for a faster run in the 1/4 or whatever your doing...

I know but there are lots of others who don't seem to get that point...they seem to think that just cause the car isn't making more power with a higher redline means that the car isn't any faster when in most cases just cause when you shift at the higher point your closer to the powerband so it does actually make you faster... not saying thats always the case but a lot of the time it is... If it was pointless to rev these engines farther even in stock form mopar wouldn't have raised the rev limiter in the mopar performance pcm... that pcm was designed to work with either stock or modded engines...... but oh well just means more people i can beat at the strip
