Shift limits?

look im a mechanic and i know that when engine hits peak rpm after that you dont gain power and if you shift at peak you go faster than if you try to run it over peak trust me if i was wrong why would manufacturers give peak horsepowers? look up a dyno chart they rise to "x" rpm and then begin to loose horsepower thus being the peak

dude no when your racing or trying to go fast you want to shift past peak so that when you you get into the next gear you are just below your peak power band or actually better yet in your powerband if you shift when your at peak it would put you far below your peak area which would cause you to be a lot slower.... ask anyone that has raced cars before you shift at redline not at your peak power to be fastest at the track...

thats true! in race, u think on the next gear!, its true that u pass the powerband u start just to making noise!, but if u pull some 200 rpms, that mean on the next gear u will be 200 rpm closer to the powerband and its beter get the powerband at 62 to 90 mph than 50 and 78mph, thats my point, im a mechanic tough and thats why i think, my point on my rev limiter was this "i played with my car and i extend the powerband a lil more 100rpm on bone stock, so that mean u got 100 rpm more to pull ur car"

Hey Altima, I have been selling neon parts for a while now. Even since that guy claimed I ripped him off. Take a look and you'll find he scammed a few guys including superD. You wanna make claims, at least have the facts.

ok for one running it over peak does not help the peak it the top of the powerband in that gear and the bottom of the power band in the next that common since if you race you should know that.. dont believe me? go to the track and shift at 6500 every gear then go make noice all the way to 8000 and see whick time is better with that claim i hope you not admitting to be a auto tech
