hey! i got a couple questions about my neon. i have a 98 sohc 5 speed neon and i was wondering where i could go for some good neon performance parts sites? i found modernperformance.com and i cant really seem to find anymore. could anybody help?
and my second question is that i was wondering a rough estimate of how much power my car would have or gain from adding an alluminum flywheel, comp performance cam, ported and polished head, 9.8:1 compression pistons, completly rebuilt engine, and a longtube header. thanks

 

ok, on your 1th question: there is some other stores as howellautomotive.com, its a prettu good store...
2nd question: the sohc neon got 9.8 compression ratio, with that mods including cold air intake, spark plug wires, more size injectors, i estimate a gain of 30 hp!

 

Buy from Howell at your own risk. Many have waiting months for parts ordered. Should add an under drive pulley to that list. Your power increase will likely be in the low-mid 20's. There are better cam shafts for the sohc neon than the comp cam shaft. Woudl not waste money there.

stick with modernperfomance for the cam best site around imo...never late and always fast...i bought almost everything for mine there...plus they pretty much specialise in neons...so they know what their talking about

 

head over to www.neons.org, then check the 'for sale' section. people on there are always upgrading and selling their old stuff for a good price. its a great community too, and most are very trustworthy when it comes to buying/selling. you might check the feedback section before buying though, just to see what others say about a seller.
