Default Alloy wheel lug nuts

I picked up a set of 2nd gen aluminum wheels today, and I know I can't use my lug nuts from my steel wheels.

I went to advance and bought a set of lug nuts, and brought them home and noticed they wouldn't work as soon as I started threading them on. The end was not large enough for the taper in the wheels.

I know I need a bulge type lug nut, but I'm not sure exactly what to go with. Rock Auto has some, but they have a ton of choices. Does anyone know of a good place I can get the exact factory lug nut used on these cars with alloy wheels, or at least point me in the right direction?

go to any parking lot, look for 5 minivans with aluminum rims. get one lug nut off each wheel, that'll give you 20 chrome aluminum wheel lug nuts. I have 4 coffee cans full of factory chrysler aluminum wheels lug nuts... want to buy a set? but then it would probably cost more for shipping than you get them locally.

Thats just wrong... anyways...

What type of lug nuts did you get? When I switched from steelies to 95 ACR/Sport rims (can't remember which model but I know it was one of those) I just went to Autozone and got the Doorman brand ones and they were a little bit larger but they still work fine.

OH you could also just try a local pick n pull or go to a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer and they should be able to sell you some but they will be more expensive.

I got the Dorman brand, but they were tapered just like my lugs for the steel wheels, and the lug would have dug into the aluminum of the wheel so I didn't even tighten them down. They might have worked, but I felt that after taking the wheels on and off a few times the wheels might have been ruined.

Advance has a bulge seat type, but they're $2 a piece. Rock auto is about half that, so I may just get them from them depedning on shipping, I'm sure they're way more at the dealer, I remember paying like $30 for a set of 5 lugs and a key for my Liberty when I had it, so I imagine a full set of lugs will be much more.

And yeah, I'm not stealing them from other people's cars...a lot of good they're doing you in coffee cans, while those people had to go and replace them.
