do mtx and atx refer to transmissions? manual and automatic? I'm assuming? ???

to be even a little more specific..
mtx refers to manual transaxle
atx refers to automatic transaxle

And MT = manual transmission, AT = automatic transmission, according to all the Dodge FSM's. (Note the subtle difference between transmissions and transaxles... )
