you dont in a neon.. but to go cheap find a 3.0 intake tube from a chrystler mini van add a 2.5 inch aluminum tube to it about 6-9 inches long and your filter... theirs your cheap intake system that does just as good as a regular kn or aem or what ever...

you cut off the front of the battery tray around the mount for the temp sensor..that gives you enough room to run it down below the battery tray and locate it right in front of the wheelwell in the corner behind the black plastic and your front bumper. when you do this make sure to make a bracket to hold the bottom to the car so you dont lose filters.

it is possible 1fast....i did it and if you believe its not possible i can post pictures. not to mention that the sound reverbs off the street and it sounds pretty cool...i did this all as my version of a 3.0L minivan cai. and i have no problems with my battery at all..

not saying that but the way i described would make more sence as it would be in the direct path of fresh incoming air.. and no cutting of the battery tray needed to make it work.. literly a bolt on and go system.makes more sence to me...

Not as good as an Iceman though. Although it is close, people forget that the Iceman intake was engineered and not thrown together. I am not knocking the 3.0L intake, but to say it is just as good, is silly.

What other mods were done to the car? Was it the same car?

As you mod a neon to bigger and better things, you will get more out of the Iceman than you would the 3.0L.

ya the ice man works better....its why i did my best to mimic it with some of the same bends and keeping all bends below 30 degrees to better flow..bolt on makes more sense than spending a little more time to make a better intake?

and path of the air isnt all of it....its temp colder is denser, and street level is the coolest air since cold air is denser than warm, and if you want to get really creative you can use the fog light hole and run a home made version of a tunnel ram to the filter...so the air is forced down the tube by the car moving forward. but if your gonna take your money do it right, dont half *** it
