I bought the tool for taking them off and it works pretty nicely. Of course, then my buddy shows me how you can do the same thing with a shoe lace. Oh well, whatever works, works, right?

puttin it back on is easier just put the clip in the handle and shove it back on the splines... thought ya might like ta know that so your not reversing the screwdriver whatever method... yes i was stupid enough to do that when my brother walked up smacked me in the back of the head and did it right in 2 seconds when i had been struggling for 15-20min...

Those clamps can be a ***** to put back onto the actual crank handle. I fought with the one for about 15 minutes til my fingers got sore, asked my sister to try, she gave up after about 5 minutes, and 5 more minutes later I finally got the clamp back in there.

The shop rag method works the best, and it costs virtually nothing to do!

There is a small keeper clip behind window crank. Take a small flathead screwdriver in one hand and push in on door panel with other hand a push one end of clip out. Window crank should come right off.
