Best Upgrade for $300
I was just wanting to get some ideas of what would be the best thing i could do to my car with my next paycheck. I'll have about $300 to spend. I already have a nice exhaust system (and thats about it), but i was thinking maybe a high flow cat, iceman air intake, or making it look nice with a rainbow spoiler with a little extra $ to spend. That not all I could do though, just the stuff i could think off the top of my head. What should I buy? Oh and by the way I was wanting to get performance I could feel.
Ya, I am just starting to build my car up... No i don't have an aftermarket header and a CAI sounds good but what do you think about a high flow cat? Also is it REALLY noticable to have a CAI???
Well w/ 300 bux you should almost be able to buy both header and intake however iceman intake isnt cheap so if you get pace setter header it might be better w/ a cheapo intake for now try the dodge minivan intake tube and aftermark cone filter.......lol......
Even the best "high flow" cat only flows a little better than the stock unit. The biggest reason is that the stock cat is a 2.5" inlet, 2.25" outlet and has a hell of a bend right afterwards. Other than that, it flow extremely well. If you ever want to go to larger piping and/or install a header, that would be the time to replace it. Keep in mind, you may want to check the EPA site just so you know what the federal laws (and state/local laws as well in some areas) are on cat replacement/removal/relocation and all the fines involved if you get caught...
You won't gain any performance with a wing. Didn't know if you were aware. Sounds like you are though.
The ghetto intake is cheap and relatively easy. But an Iceman makes the install even easier and looks better, just a lot more money. A Mopar PCM is a great upgrade anytime, assuming you drive a stick. An underdrive pulley is also a nice thing to add anytime, particularly if you ditch the powersteering and air conditioning.
I'd still avoid the Pace Setter header (as well as most of their other products...). I do have their header, but it's been ground down and rewelded properly. I'll be upgrading it eventually, probably when I finally install the Magnum head...
You should also consider some of the basics that don't actually improve HP, but definitely improve driveability. Solid/firmer motor mounts at the very least. And start thinking about suspension components while you're at it. If I was doing it all over again, I would have started with the suspension...
Best of luck!

hey man go with a header or a intake a intake is like one of the first things you should get. Maybe go with some headlights or window tint or coilovers things that make ur car look good!

Larger TB, Know someone who bores stock ones cheap less than$75 PM me i"ll give you his contact info. don't need more than 55 MM unitl you have major mods. Mopar computer, dramatic improvement and works well with iceman and larger TB. you can also port match intake manifold with a dremil tool to match TB. Prothane motor mounts takes away wheel hop and makes tighter shifts on MTX. Underdrive pulleys are nice anytime, lighter weight and engine revs faster.
