I was just wondering...I recently purchased a 2001 neon sohc auto for $150 with a blown motor. I found a motor out of a 97 neon for cheap and was wondering if i could use the block and head in the 01??? can i just swap the manifolds and all the other crap or is the head different...I love being a mechanic, i come across all kinds of good deals...

 

I know you can swap an 01 into a 97, so it should work the other way around. You would keep the 01 manifolds and you may have to swap over some sensors from the 01 to the 97 engine, as I don't know about compatibility.
