Default Auto Transmission Performance Valve Body and JET controller?

I did a quick search and picked through some of the FAQ's and have found much (no surprise), but now that I've forced myself to like an automatic Neon (my back is giving me problems and clutching a lot hurts) I am wondering about the performance valve body from HowellAutomotive:

anyone tried it? I like it from about 3500 or 4000 RPM in first gear and up but until that point (about 30 or 35 mph) it's a total dog. Wondering if this valve body may help. For my type of driving (not racing) I don't think I have any interest in increasing the stall on the torque converter, but perhaps a little more engagement and harder shifts would be possible?

Also, on SummitRacing I found a Jet controller for autos only and for 96-99 only. This Auto i picked up is a 97. The summit blurb says this controller can control shifts, program performance/ignition etc. and will display MPG readouts too. At $260-ish it doesn't sound like too bad a deal. Has anyone tried out this JET controller?

there is a cheaper way to make a performance valve body. Ill do a little bit of searching to find the post. I will repost when found.
