Default 2nd gen wheels and tire fitment

I see in the FAQ's tire sizes listed that fit these cars, but I was wondering if any of you guys with 2nd gen 15's are running any of those sizes.

Looking at the suspension it's awfully close with the stock 185/60's that I'm running now, but I'd like to move to a 205/50 or 205/55, or possibly even a 215/50 which are all very close in height to the stock tires, but the width concerns me with the distance to the trailing arms being so close, and I don't want to use a spacer.

Is anyone running these sizes with 2nd gen 15's? If so how is the clearance. If not, what are you running?

No one is running 2nd gen wheels?

das, I know you have/are, what size tire are you running?

I measured today and I have approximately 1/2" between my exiting 185/60 and the suspension. This is just under 13mm, which is really pushing it when moving up 20mm in width (10mm each way theoretically) and that's why I'm asking.

I will use spacers if I have to, but would want a hubcentric type, but would rather not if I don't have to.

I have the 15" 2nd gen snowflakes and run 205/50/15's. Very nice for traction. No clearance issues at all.

I bought my 95 neon with 185/65r15 on 2001 neon rims no issues at all, looks close but still about 1/2" at the closest point with turning the tires from rubbing the inner wheel well. Thats 24.5" diameter and 215/50r15 are 23.5", i dont really see a problem but you might had to try them out... I dont know off hand what the rim width is, i just bought this car last week so still have learning to do, but thats one thing to look into, if the tire is too wide for the wheels you are using.
