Fuel Pump Questions on my 95 neon.
I'm trying to find out if a replacement fuel pump really matters if it comes out of a car with a PLASTIC tank vs a Metal tank.
My car has the metal gas tank. I really do not see how it matters aside from bottom end fitment problems, because pictures they look the same...... The only difference I have been finding is PRICE. A Really big jump in price.
So please clear this up.

i'm having the opposite problems in price. i have a plastic tank and i can only find them for approx. $ 360.00 and the metal ones are closer to $300.00. if your in canada try partsource they are the best price besides some little shops. the cheapest i found so far is $195.00 through RSA in barrie

I have a 1995 Neon, and I just replaced the fuel pump unit this weekend. I went to Advance Auto parts and paid $190 tax and all for a new unit. I live in AL.
They did not ask me if I had a plastic tank or metal, so I think the units themselves are the same for either one. Now I have the standard metal tank BTW.
