i have to change my fuel pump (plastic tank) i have the tank off the car already but i can't seem to get the pump outta the tank. the big plastic ring that holds in on won't budge. are there special tools that i need to remove this??? any ideas would be greatly accepted

 

The FSM does call for Special Tool 6856 to remove the fuel pump module.

 

hammer and flat screw drive was my special tool.

 

brass punch and a rubber mallet as not to spark anything
