Default Got some Q's about a 1997 neon

All right I have found a 97 neon std 2.0 with 110k for $200. It needs an alternater, brake lines, pass side caliper and possible all new brakes and have the rotors turned down, and all 4 struts. The intierior looks great, and the under carge looks pretty solid. I can get most of the parts from the junk yard is the car worth it for 200 bucks? And to these cars have plastic gas tanks or metal?

naw it aint worth it. the catalytic converter is worth $90, and the rest is worth about $150 in scrap. so just grab it sell off some parts on ebay junk the rest and buy one that doesn't need anything.

if you don't mind driving a Neon, it'll be ok for driving. for reliability if the thing got the 14th evolution head gasket, it should be ok. automatics don't get all that great of fuel mileage (high 20's). A geo metro would do much better if you want great mileage.

if it is a manual trans you can get 30mpg and the 97 neon is a toss up between the metal and plastic tank. I think that is the year they switched to a plastic tank. but I would say the 200 is worth it if it is running. also, it should proably have a timing belt and a waterpump done if not already done so.
