Default 98' Neon starter question

I have a 98 DOHC dodge neon, and my question is this: Are all any neon starters the same SOHC and DOHC ?
What would cause my stater to just click when I turn the key ?
Thanks,

Danny.

dead or dieing battery for starters. my second guess would be to replace the main ground, might have gotten corroded and the increased resistance is keeping enough juice going to the starter to turn it over. or the starter solenoid might also have somthing wrong, but usualy when those go. . .they go

the starters should be the same. the only difference with the engines is the addition of the second cam, one to run the intake valves and the other to run the exhaust valves.

Yeah that's what it was, the ground wire, I just took it off and cleaned the baterry posts and it's been working fine ever since... but I do have a spare starter now just in case

--Thought I'd answer this one incase someone goes back looking for a fix.

Thank you.
Danny.
