Default 1995 Neon Gauge Cluster Swap

I have a gauge cluster with only the speedometer, fuel and water temp displayed. I was looking on ebay and saw one that had an rpm gauge and claimed it would fit mine, but it was like a 2001. I wanted to see if that was true, if not which ones would fit. Also if anyone has a tutorial on how to do the swap and what I would need to do to make the rpm gauge work if anything. I know that is asking a lot. Thank you for any help.

That cluster will not work in your neon. 1G gauge clusters and 2G gauge clusters are not compatible without EXTENSIVE wiring work, making it not worth it. Your neon can use any clutch from 95-99 only.

Our first Neon was a base, '97 model and no tach.

We went to a local junk yard (salvage/recycler) and picked up a 1st gen cluster with tach. It was basically plug and play.

If you get the old one out, just plug the replacement cluster in. The tach worked without anything special being done.
