Default 1998 Dodge Neon 2.0 DOHC Starting Problems

okay well here is the story on my Neon and now im clueless. I bought the car for 1,000. it needed a transmission. So put a tranny in it then the starter went out. i put a starter on it. Drive it for 1,800 Miles. Ran good with no problems what so ever. Well yesterday i was driving it and hit the slightest bump. i did not hit the bump hard! But when i did it was like the car slipped out of gear into neutral.. then i herd a couple clanking noises.. So i turned the car off and looked under it. Could not find anything. Then i tried starting the car and it will not start... The flywheel will turn then trying to start the car but the timing belt wont.. Checked too see if the timing belt was broke but it is not broke nor loose. The pulleys will not even turn.. but the flywheel does. What could be the problem or what could of caused this issue? Thanks for your time..

you sheared the teeth off the timing belt at the crank pulley. now you get to replace the head.

any maybe a few pistons, depending on the RPM bet the waterpump went bad which locked up shearing the teeth off the belt and smashing a few pistons into the valves. sometimes you can get away with replacing just a few valves. but you will need to change the Waterpump and timing belt.

First time doing the job with all the proper tools takes about 3 hours. the most inportant tool will be the pully puller. get the right puller and you will not have a headache.
