Default Crossover Starter

Hello Thankls in advance for all of your help. Can a starter from 1998 or 99 dodge Stratus fit in a 1999 dodge Neon

I had the stater check it pass test what else could it be

Default Crossover Starter

Well I had the battery checked it was good the guy at advance auto said it didnt even need a charge so ther's a fuse box next to the battery the diagrham showes a big 30 amp fuse and and what I think is a starter relay no visiable damange I just dont understand the clunk sound is the starter drive going into the flywheel but it wont spin the flywheel

Hey Guys I figured it out thre battery cables was coroded underneath the insulation I change the cables and it started right up but what got me was that I thought it would all or nothing not just the starter drive ingaging but not spining one of thoses freak of nature things i guss

No, that's electrical cuz the big heavy wire spins the starter. and a tiny wire makes it click. you discovered and unwanted high resistance. one of the 4 common electrical problems (post #3).

great job doing some diagnosis and reporting back your findings...that'll help someone else...hopefully
