The Wipers on my 99 Neon do not work. The fuse is fine. My daughter heard a pop when they quit. Is there a common problem that plagues 99 Neon's? Is there a webpage that helps with info for repairing it?

 

taken from haynes manual

1 if the wiper motor does not run at all, first check the fuse block for a blown fuse AND the power distribution center for a blown fuse or a faulty relay

2 check the wiper switch

3 turn the ignition switch and wiper switch on

4 connect a jumper wire between the wiper motor and ground. then retest. if the motor works now, repair the ground connection.

5 if the wipers still dont work, turn on the wipers and check for voltage at the motor connector. if there is voltage, remove the motor and check if off the vehicle with fused jumper wires from the battery. if the motor now works, check for binding linkage. if the motor still dosen't work, replace it

6 if there is no voltage at the motor, the problem is in the switch or wireing

 

Thanks for the info. Strange thing is I went back to look at wipers and they are working now? Maybe it's the ground connection and when it was raining, it was damp?

 

Just to tell you theres a a recall on the wiper switch or the wiper switch wire....thats the only recall on the neon too.
