Exclamation Head Work...

I have a 95 neon with a SOHC engine. I was going to have the head shaved down. How far can I have the head shaved without the pistons doing damage to the head or valves?

I took .100" of my head, problem gets into not enough travel on the tensioner for the timing belt and when you shave the head, you retard the cam so you need an adjustable cam sprocket.

How much is an adjustable cam sprocket and where can I get one of these?

I got my cam sprocket on Ebay for under $50. You can shave off as much as you want. Just need to be saavy enough to handle issues that could arise like the timing belt length. I had people tell me that I could mill off more than .120 off a 2.3 Ford head. I managed to get .190 off and it made a ton of power.
