Hi All, I have a very strange issue here with my 98 SOHC Automatic Neon. When i put the AC on the car Idles up to 30 Mph at a stop sign. If i turn AC off car idles down to normal this also happends with the heat as well. I have brought it to 4 Local Dodge dealerships they basicly look it over and have no idea why its doing that. The AC is Freezing cold and the Heat is burning hot. Other then this idle issue that can't be explained by dealerships the car has no problems. I need any help anyone can provide me I am truly lost here.....

Is there somewhere where i can adjust the idle??? When A/C come on?? I'm not sure where it is on this neon exactly.

 

Once Again you where correct. I took the car to a Dodge Dealer i knew and told him to swap out the ECU and he did with one car on his lot and it worked. Now i have a Question for ya.. Can i use any ECU in this 98 Neon can i buy one for a 95 Neon and use it as long as its 2.0L. I know 95 some motors are Mexican is that a issue or doesn't Matter. Also is there a aftermarket one that is better, My Neon is 1998 SOHC 2.0L Usa.

no stick with the ecu of the year of your car while most neon's wiring harnesses were the same small differences are present the 95's are different from all other years the 96's are the same except for the cooling fan issue and 97-99 are usually all the same...
