Need Help Bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know exactly what it means to make modifications to the wiring harness? does it mean just having to extend some wires or is more complicated then that?
The only thing that sticks out that I recall is the coolant temp sensor wire will have to be extended (SOHC on the back of the head, DOHC over by the thermostat). Use a '96 PCM if you are using a '96 wiring harness or you'll have issues with the fans.
Best of luck!

yeah but will a 96 sohc ecu run a 98 dohc neon i mean i can change out the fans that's no big dealbut in terms of gear ratios which of the two is better both are automatics.
It's not changing out the fans, it's changin the pin location on the wiring harness where it connects ot the PCM. That's the only pin that's different.
Yes, a '96 PCM will run a DOHC engine, but it will run like crap because the fuel and timing curves are seriously retarded (in more ways than one...). You're much better off using a dohc PCM that came from the same year as the wiring harness.
There is no difference in gearing. It's the same automatic that was used in the Omni...
