Default overheating and no a/c

ok so im back on the forums. i got ahold of a 1998 neon SOHC 5 speed. Anyways the car is having a bad over heating problem, i drove from ft hood to houston (3 hour drive) then drove to Arlington (6hour drive) and it didn't overheat until like 5 min from home. Whenever the a/c kicks on it overheats and when it turns on it cools down, besides the weep hole how can i know the water pump is going out? and if anyone else has any other ideas let me know

Have you checked the coolant level? When was the last time it was flushed and clean coolant added? Also, make sure all the air is out of the system. The water pump, idler pulley and timing belt should all be changed every 100,000 miles.

I love it when it's something simple like that. Good to hear all is well.
