my 1996 Neon MPI?
Is my 1996 SOHC MTX NEON Multi Point Injection?
Reason I'm asking is because I was reading on how throttle body spacers work on older cars, and it actualy enhances performance by delaying the air before fuel to create a richer mixture. it also went on to say it yields no effects on MPI.

you actually have a sequential multi port fuel injection ( MPFI ) system. This system uses timed impulses to sequentially inject the fuel into the intake ports of each cylinder.
There is no use of a throttle body spacer on an injected car. The only benifit it has is to give you a better air/fuel mixture on a carberated motor. On a fuel injeced car the fuel is injected after the TB and does not provide any better of a mixture and actually hinders performace because it creates a longer distance and more air resistance.
Good grief Casper haven't you ever heard of throttle body injection (TBI)?? No, the neon doesn't use it but lots of others did and a TB spacer works the same on them as on a carb engine.
Vitor's dynos say differently, at least on his DOHC. He also makes and sells spacers for the DOHC manifold. Any gains I'm sure are from the larger plenum volume and/or the effect it has on the MAP sensor though, nothing to do with air/fuel mixing.
The Neon does have regular MPFI... but only for a second or so during startup (doesn't know cam position for a full rotation) and in limp-home mode.
