What exactly do you have besides a 2.0 liter Sohc. Is it an auto or a manual.

If it's an automatic you need to switch out the tranny for a 5 spd. Get a 2.4 block if you want alot more torque. It would take some work but a 2.4 block and a DOHC head would get you a great deal of power over your current SOHC motor.Just the tranny swap to MTX is said to get you about 20 hp. The DOHC head will get you a few more also NOT to mention your power band with a DOHC is going to pull harder, LONGER.
You will need to change computers if you change motors and transmision. I have not had the chance to race an integra but I have raced a few modded Hondas.Only one honda has ever come close to beating me, he had a motor swap done to a jap spec, prelude motor with 200 hp. I didnt get around him cause the road was too short but, he was really impressed so impressed that he lied to me and said it was a stock 1.8 liter. (I knew better than that.) My freind had already told me about his motor swap..Well GOOD LUCK with it.

There is a lot of ways you can make your neon faster, how much are you looking to spend. HP cost money, the more money the faster you go.

Not being an *** or nothing but there arent to many Hondas with a stock 1.8 liter, If they are into street raceing "around here anyhow" most of them have had a motor swap. Like my neighbors Civic DX, he done alot of work and spent some flow on a JAP SPEC. Prelude motor. It don't run to SHABBY. More than a stock SOHC NEON can chew. I think these are the cars he wants to peel the paint off of as he blows by.

But yes he is faster than granpas 1.8 liter Civic. Hope I didn't **** ya off!!!!!

If you've got a standard, even if you're on a SOHC and have no mods done, you should be able to run most any Civic even if they have a couple mods. However, if you're set on an engine swap, most people with Neons go to a 2.4L such as the PT Cruiser boasts. That seems to be a pretty popular thing. Not sure the cost or the power you'll gain with that, but that's the most common engine swap for a Neon, and about as good as you can get.

How's about taking it to the track, and let the dip****s keep the streets. A season worth of drag racing will cost you less than a single incident of street racing when you get caught, taking into considerations fines, insurance rates, etc. Street racing is so blatantly based in non-fact it's amazing that anyone with an IQ higher than a radish would participate, much less get excited over "winning" or depressed over "losing". I can get "beat" at the track by 3 car lengths and still go to the next round because the guy in the next lane jumped the gun or I had a horrendous reaction time (typical...). Street racing is just guesswork and more guesswork.
