Angry Odd hesitation problems.

Ok so I was given a95 sohc Auto base 4 dr neon. Its got some issues. The main issue is that when at wot in gear and neutral, it will only rev up to maybe 3k. No tach so not sure. But it starts to miss fire quite badly like itsrunning on 1 cylinder. I replaced the tps, spark plugs, checked the coil, checked egr, no cel. And every now and then it will miss at idle as well. No vacuum leaks that I'm aware of. Cel was on before for o2 sensor, and generator field not switching properly. But now has disappeared from the pcm. When barely pressing the throttle it will rev to almost red line without issue, but as son as I go any more than 1/2 throttle it just falls on its face. Almost like its not getting fuel. Running out of patience wroth this free car thats starting to cost me lots of time and frustration. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Chris.

Try this. Disconnect the exhaust from the manifold and see what happens. Two bolts and it can hang against the cross member while you test drive it. If your catalytic converter is plugged up, it can act exactly as you describe. Since it is a 95, it may be way past time to change it out.

The test is free and quick to do.

Bump. Have you found out what was causing this? Curious. If you did, please post what you did to fix it.

I did find a cure. Come to find out it was the fuel filter.... I changed it out and it ran great. But I ended up breaking a steel fuel line so I gotta ghetto up a line. Luckily I work at a parts warehouse so I can get parts dirt cheap.
