I just bought this 98 neon r/t 2.0 sohc and Iv been doing some reach and my car bangs at 7500 instead of 7200, all iv done so far to it is a cai,full exhaust and that’s it but my car runs like a bad out of hell. I have raced other neon’s and I seem to pull them hard also my car runs allot better on 93 then 87. Were is the pcm located on the car because I think it may have some mods done to it before I got it.

 

Always run 92 on an R/T. The PCM is under the hood on the drivers side, just to the right of the battery.

 

The rare one... R/T's only came with the DOHC....

 

You can't modify the PCM, it is a sealed unit, you may have a mopar of AFX Pcm though.

 

IVE never seen a sohc R/T.....now an acr, yes....

 

Sounds like it may be the Mopar PCM

 

Could be???????? It could be a motor swap, a lot of people mod there cars. There could be any # of things done to the car. [sm=ttiwwp.gif]

 

2nd gen R/T's were SOHC. But 1998 is still 1st gen...

Using the factory tach? It's about as accurate as the factory cooant temp sensor. In other words, not...

 

7500 is the redline for the Mopar PCM, and yeah, R/T's will pull hard on pretty much any other Neon out there besides the SRT. And yea, with the R/T, don't run on an octane lower than 92, but this has been said...
