RE: HAHN turbo kit?
I have this kit! Best kit i have ever put on my neon.. I had 3 turbo kits on my car before my hahn kit! I goes on so easy and it is meant for your car so it preforms perfect. Also if you have any questions about install or turbo kit at all you can call hahns and they are hella good at helping you. I have hahn kit stage 2...with some other little extras you can get., My neon on a none built engine was hella fast. THen i built it....there are no words to describe now wide spreed you can use there turbos. I was running 8psi on stock engine and now im running 16psi....it can handle 5-30 psi..
It costs some big money for their kits but i give you a thumbs up on buying it..PM me if you buy it and need any help...

Does chill have a neon that runs in the 10's and then drives off the track by itself without a trailer. nope, I think everyone has seen the video of the neon beating a viper...yeah thats hahns second car...not their fastest but their second turbo neon....give them a call i have talked to them about turbo neons many times and they would love to help you beat vipers(but who cares about beating vipers when you can beat those damn civics that think they are sooooo fast!)

RE: HAHN turbo kit?
That driver was Len Ayala, now with Chill Factory, and that car was far from streetable when it was running 10's. And yes, I'm pretty sure that his current 500+ HP car (stock R/T tranny, stock DOHC PCM, full interior) is well into the 10's if not in the 9's... His biggest problem last I heard was traction - spinning the slicks in all 5 gears (that's right, trapping over 130 does require leaving 4th, even with the taller slicks). Then with the nitrous...
Hahn has come a long way in the last few years. There were some serious problems with their fuel management setup, and customer service was deplorable. Now it seems they've got themselves back on track somewhat (website update would be great!), and their new "portfueler" looks very promising, although it would be nice if they'd provide better info so tuners could actually tune with it...
Chill Factory uses a slightly different approach, but either system with forged internals is going to rock. Chill Factory was putting stock internal cars with full interior deep in the 12's with no problem.
If I was going turbo with this car, I'd go with Chill Factory. Personal preference.
Best of luck!

RE: HAHN turbo kit?
This is taken right out of Hahn Racecraft website!!
"Even in its current 600HP configuration, this Neon is still street driven. And, perhaps even more amazing, it's engine is still mostly stock, with the exception of forged pistons and billet connecting rods. The completely stock cylinder head has never been disassembled in 45,000 miles of use! We resisted other mods to the engine in order to establish the durability and power potential of the stock components. Doing so also demonstrates the power adding capability of the bolt-on HRC TurboSystem on a mostly stock, inexpensive engine. Mission accomplished"
They are both very good turbo kits...im just speaking from what i have..i have had many turbo kits and i like this one! I hit 12.14 in my neon with my hahn kit and hoping for 11's soon..

RE: HAHN turbo kit?
Go to ***** and talk to Len. Street driven, yes. Street friendly, no. Copy and paste from the website all you want, I'll put my trust in the guys I talk to personally, particularly the guy that actually drove the car. The site also claims that it's the quickest Neon at 10.55@140. Since I personally know of 3 street-driven Neons running 9's (Scott Kornish still racing in Street class), that's hardly a true statement anymore. Len's project car for Chill Factory (Grover) was running the same times with the stock R/T tranny. Night and day difference.
Only stage 2 in the 11's (on stock internals) that I've heard of is Chris Barnett, so good luck (seriously)!

RE: HAHN turbo kit?
hi, i am going with a chill factory stage 1 for now, all the locals here dont beleive in "neons" being the cars to fix up. i just laugh at them. i actually left our local race forum cause of their ignorance. this chill fit will get my neon into the 12's tho? i have a 95 manual, sohc, that i am running 16.1 in the 1/4 right now with just exhaust done.( actually, high flow muffler and hollow cat) that took 1 full second off my car. i have looked at the hrc kit and cf kit, cf has the most complete setup for the dollar. 2800.oo for a stage one is not bad considering all the stuff you get with it. what is the highest psi you can run on stock internals and still be reliable anyway?

RE: HAHN turbo kit?
what about a T3 garrett? its a small turbo thats said doesnt need engine mods to be put in. im supposed to get it in today. its gonna suck if i have to beef up my engine after spending all this money on a turbo and the parts for it. one thing ive learned is dont try to save a couple pennies if you want real results. and i believe speed is better than looks. after the race the winner gets the props bodykit/spoiler or not.
