wont start need help
i have a 99 plymouth neon with a 97 SOHC engine and auto trans. i swaped the the engine and trans with no problems fired right up. i have drivin the car for about 3 months now and about two weeks ago it would not start. i drove it for about 30 minutes, turned it off and about an hour later went to start it and it would turn over but would not start. after checking everthing i noticed it was not firing and it read code 11. so i checked the coil wires and they are not getting power from the pcm. ive changed the coil pack, pcm, crank sensor, cam sensor, plugs, timing belt, checked for voltage to all the sensors, checked the relays and fused, fuel pump, wires between the sensors and the pcm are all good, o2 sensors are good, map/iat is good, tps is good. just about everything i cant check has been checked and is good. i am really stumped. the car still reads code 11. even with all new sensors and comuter. i dont know what to do. if anyone can think of anything else to try tell me please! i would really appreciate it. thanks
Code 11 could also be the crank sensor. If it doesn't get a good reading, the PCM cuts power to the ASD relay, which shuts off power to the coilpack, injectors, O2 sensors, and fuel pump.
The crank sensor has been a thorn in the side of many Neon owners (not me though). Could be a bad sensor, could just be a smidge out of position, could be the wiring.
Code 11 could also be the timing belt (not very likely since it had bee driving fine), misfire adaptive numerator at the limit (you'd be the first I've heard of), or intermittent loss of cam or crank position signal. If you know someone with a scan tool or can get the car towed to Autozone (free readings), they can narrow it down farther. But my bet is on the crank sensor.
Best of luck!

thanks for the help but ive already changed the crank sensor and timing belt and just put a new engine wiring harness on it today. what the hell? i am about to give up on this car. i guess i will try to find a good scan tool. ive already scanned it but... its worth a try. well thanks anyway. ps what is the misfire adaptive numerator?
What ecu did you put back into the car...the DOHC or a SOHC...also what year....i think they changed the codes on the engines so if you have a 99 car with a 97 ecu the code reader might be reading somthing different...just a though!
Only a handful of codes changed, and only from 1995 to 1996.
