Default Code 72 and EVAP solenoid

On my 98 DOHC, on my way to make up sometime yesterday to not be late for my kids hockey game, I had to push my car harder than normal and my SES light came on. Now when I did the light flash procedure, it did a 12, then a 72, then a 55. Now I know what the 12 and 55 are, it's just I don't know what the 72 stands for, and I can't find any info on it.

Now after clearing the codes, now my idle is higher than usual and the EVAP solenoid is buzzing like crazy.

Do these have anything in common? Is the valve on its way to the garbage?

Code 72 indicates a bad cat converter. Needs to be replaced.
