Every now and then my belt lets out a whine - usually on the freeway. Whines for about 10 seconds and stops. What does it take to replace a belt?
Expensive? Does it whine because it's ready to break, on to tight too loose, cracked? Why just on the freeway?

 

It is probably your power steering belt that needs tightening. You should inspect it for wear and/or cracks.
