Alright guys whats going on.

I made a thread the other day about a 5 speed 1999 DOHC neon that I bought that needed a tranny, well long story short pulled the tranny out and the housing was cracked right down the middle, went to the junk yard picked up a tranny out of a 98 SOHC 5 speed and threw it in and come to find out 5 gear is f*****. I have a new tranny from my 05 neon I sold awhile back.

So my question is this, will the "guts" of my 2005 tranny fit in my first gen SOHC housing and function properly?

They have different part numbers and different ratios, so I would assume different "guts" as you refer to them.
