Default Lights and Intake for 96 DOHC Sport 4Dr

Hey guys,
Just got my neon a few days ago, I'm looking to put an intake along with new head, tail, and fog lights on it to start off. Its a 1996 4Dr Neon Sport with the 16v DOHC engine. It has 81k miles, and my mechanic has found no issues with it. The breaks, their lines, and the rotors, and fluids have all been re-done since it was sitting for awhile. From what I was told the head gasket is okay but I do want to double check. She's been cleaned inside and out.

I was looking on ebay and I am considering this intake: http://www.ebay.com/itm/370586035919
With these heads and tails: http://www.ebay.com/itm/280806383774
With these fogs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400235225096

I'm not sure what else I want to do to it in the future, but I probably won't be doing any swapping or anything serious. A supercharger or turbo would be the most I'd wind up doing to it, and that's a bit further down the road.

Any advice on which intake or lights to go with instead of the ones I've chosen would be appreciated, as well as any general advice.

Check www.modernperformance.com for parts. They cater to the neon's needs. They sell DEPO lights as opposed to some knockoff you would get from ebay.com. I have bought parts from ebay for cheap but have run into fitment issues. The intake you posted is a warm air intake and you may see a slight performance increase but it would be small.

I would start reading up on the forum...

Thanks for the info and topics dude.

I'm aware of modern, and I've looked there. I really really don't like how the DEPOs look. The lights they offer for the second gen are about the same as the ones I found on ebay. Through pictures I've been able to verify that the ebay headlights are by Spyder, and are widely sold and are DOT approved. I really dislike the cosmetics of the DEPOs because I'm looking for blacked out light interiors with halo projectors. Do you know of anything like I'm looking for that you'd recommend? I'd retrofit them but the stock housings I have are in rough shape, and if I'm going to get new housings, I might as well get all new pre-done ones.

I've been looking at intakes, I've found this one, also by Spyder: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Neon-9...-/320875033003 And I believe it locates the intake in front of the engine instead of behind judging on how it mounts. Is this any better? I'd really like an ICEMAN but they're not sold anymore and I wouldn't know where to find one. :c

No current intake on the market places the filter down in front of the engine any longer. I do know someone selling their Iceman intake, filter and battery tray for $160 shipped. Let me know if you are interested.

Why is that? Something to do with emissions? And I might be, but I'm not buying right away. Thanks for trying to hook me up though, appreciate it.

Only two companies made them. AEMs original one went down in front but got sued due to morons driving thru puddles and sucking water into the engine. Iceman continued to make theirs but stopped when the market for the neon started to die down.

In that case I may see if a friend can help me fabricate one custom. From what I've heard it isn't too hard to do.
