Default Cluster lights won't work, need help.

My cluster lights along with the lights for the shifter and a/c control panel WON'T WORK! My speedo, temp. gauge, fuel gauge and turn dignals work along with my dome light. I changed the lights in the cluster, shifter and a/c panel and still nothin. I checked fuses... all good. I'm confused as to why they won't work but other things are. Help would be very very much appreciated.

Also since I forgot to mention before, it's a 1995 neon coupe. I just pulled off the dash and found a solid black wire with a yellow stripe blistered very badly. I noticed there were two but only one was blistered. Also, my taillights, headlights and side markers work when I turn on the lights. If the blistered is the culprit, can I end up changing out the entire wiring harness under the dash? If so, where could I possibly get one and does it have to come from the same year (or gen.) and style as my current car.

I went in and taped up all the burnt wires and if any was burnt in two I put them back together or replaced the badly burnt parts in them then I cut the wire that was burnt away from the switch and took a test light and turned the switch on found a hot wire and turned the switch off and when I found one that went off with the switch I tied the wire I fixed in with it and never had a problem again drive the car for months b4 I sold it because of the transmission

Nah. I'm not too high on the idea of getting in there and splicing wires. I think I'm just gonna go too a JY and find and entire wire harness and try to throw that in there. After everything I've done to this car these electrical problems just royally **** me off.

Much to my suprise it was only the dimmer switch! I went to the JY today and spent two and a half hours trying to get out the interior wiring harness. I got probably 75% done but the heat and humidity became too much. So I grabbed a dimmer switch and a cluster (now I have a TACH. HELL YEAH!!!) Put them in when I got home, first the dimmer, and freakin' presto, the damn cluster lights work.
