sorry dude, i read that online report, kinda sux you got took. almost like one of those craigslist losers that claim to be auto techs but they are just parts replacers. i hope you learned a valuable lesson here. first off, if it is the fuel pump, a scan tool will not determine that. you need to check fuel pressure with a pressure gauge. the last pump i installed ...depending on the tank( metal or plastic) was right around $150.00 my cost. no GOOD mechanic fixes peoples cars for free and also makes money on the parts, thats how WE eat and keep buying tools to keep up with todays new technology.
