Default Lifting a Neon

*I got a 97 neon sport givin to me for free.... So yes I am serious when I say "Lifting a Neon"*

I'm trying to figure out a way to get maybe 2in of lift. I'm guessing a taller coil spring from another model Chrysler vehicle would fit, any ideas? I know Honda guys swap in accord coils to lift civics so its gotta be possible for a neon.

If a lift is possible then project all terrain neon will begin

Buys those ebay coilovers with adjustable sleeves. Other then that you can only go as far as the strut will let you. Those coilovers should keep you 2" over stock ride height no problem.
Heres a set I had on a car. They were adjusted about half way, maybe a little less: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/297720...-4#29772080081

Not a bad idea. But low cost is key to this project. I have access to a good size salvage yard and have all the tools necessary to do just about any "custom" work needed. Swapping in coils from another Chrysler model vehicle would be ideal I'm thinking.

They are like $50 shipped on a high side. I think you can use second gen suspension? But idk I think its either taller or shorter I cant recall.

Didn't realize they were that cheap, I'm a truck guy ha. I'll have to take a look. Any other "All Terrain" neon ideas are welcome. We already ripped out the A/C and power steering and removed all of the interior and other misc items for weight reduction.

I would worry about the trans if its not a 5speed. If your even running the stock motor. I would consider upgrading the cooling system if you plan to crawl at all. Neons like to run hot. Also I would throw a turbo on it just incase Pt cruiser clutch from the yard thats it good shape would be a nice upgrade on the 5 speed trans, also a DOHC trans if its a sohc. Lower gears. If your even using the stock drivetrain.

Luckily its 5spd and has a fairly new clutch

I'll get pictures up as the build progresses

Side windows were smashed out so the interior will be rhino lined shortly. Battery has also been relocated to the trunk, cold air intake, exhaust, and larger throttle body of an auto neon. Any other ideas?

What do you plan to do with it? The poor neon wont take much abuse off road. If you plan to have big tires and crawl up or over things you will need a heavy duty clutch, and a bigger motor lol.

The 2nd gen struts and springs are taller and lift it slightly.

Here is an idea for you...
