this may sound stupid but anyway...i bought a 95 neon with a blown head gasket and diy engine wiring...i rebuilt it now im having alternator problems...does the alternator have a seperate ground wire or is it just grounded to the block??

 

I believe the alt. directly grounds to the engine. What kind of alt. problems are you having? Not charging, over charging, Batt. light coming on?

 

i have the wonderful 41 code (generator field not switching properly) the battery light does not come on. it dont charge the battery, i think the battery might be part of the problem
