Maybe grab a timing belt tension gauge. I would also swap the cam gear and tighten the crap out of the cam gear bolt with some lock tight. DOHC is where its at. After owning my dohc I never went back. I still got love for the sohc, but its just to easy to make the dohc fast. Just swap a dohc head on your car with the sohc pistons. it will drop the compression for a little boost.
