I have a exhaust leak coming from the start of the exhaust. I can feel the leak but I cant see where its coming from. It looks like its the exhaust manifold or where the pipe connects to the exhaust manifold. My question is it a common problem for a cracked manifold? It seems like when I do a exhaust search alot of exhaust manifolds come up. Or is the connetion betweeen the pipe and the manifold more common. Its not a huge leak but I can hear and feel it leaking, just not sure where........Thanks for any help!!

 

Is it dohc or sohc. The dohc manifolds tend to crack. But the manifold donut gasket and or bolts do seem to let go also. Check for black exhaust residue around the donut area.

Common to see them crack. A good welder will know how to properly fix it. I would first get in there with a flashlight and find the black residue exhaust gas leaves. This is the easiest way to find an exhaust leak. It could still be the donut gasket.
