so would my neon have a fuel filter separate or together with the fuel pressure regulator? I have a steel tank.

 

All of them have a fuel accumulator (which some call a filter, even thought its not, it may still plug). All of them have a regulator (metal tanks inside the tank, plastic outside) and all of them have a pickup filter/screen which can also clog up on the inside of the tank.
