hey i got 1998 r/t, a AEM CAIS and flowmaster 40 delta flow and headers. now if i get a racing chip would i notice a difference. and do i really have to run 91 octane.

The only companys that make PCMs as far as I know are Mopar and Howell automotive aka AFX. You will notice a difference. And I do suggest higher octane if you get the PCM that requires it.

What a coincedence lol. I have the 98 r/t and one of the first things I replaced was the PCM with the aftermarket Mopar PCM. I know a lot of people who said they have felt a difference and that it's really not worth it unless you're doing heavy engine mods. The PCM is supposed to improve thge performance of the car with each mod you add. I wouldn't know because I put it on before any of my mods lol. If I had another neon with the same mods and drove it I'm sure I'd know if I could tell a difference or not but...Also on the Mopar PCM it says it requires at least 93 octane. I've put 92 in and also last week I've tried 91 because it was 10 cents cheaper and I haven't heard any pinging. But, personally, I wouldn't go any lower than that. It'd be like a stage-3 srt-4 using 87 octane lol. Oh also, what type of headers do you have???

by the way 91 octane isnt always the same as 91 in some states it could be like 93 in others it could be like 89 it all depends. and you can use octane boosters as well or mix your own toulene based formula.

91 is 91 no matter what state your in. Some states like mine, CT, use winter addatives, but its still 91 octane
